Winning collaboration: Pfaff and SPACER seat shells from Dresden Winning collaboration: Pfaff and SPACER seat shells from Dresden
In the American IMSA WeatherTech endurance championship – one of the most prestigious sports car championships in the world – Pfaff Motorsports secured the title in the finale at the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Also on board: racing seat shells from soft trim seatings GmbH in Dresden.
“We are very proud and happy for our partners from Pfaff Motorsports,” says Sascha Taubert, project manager for the SPACER racing seat shell at soft trim. “We can already look back on some successes that motorsport teams have achieved with our SPACER. But this is the first big title in the hard-fought American championship that we can celebrate. Every victory is great, but this is something very special,” says Sascha Taubert happily.
The cooperation between the Dresden seat technology manufacturer soft trim and the Canadian elite team began more than a year ago. Since then, the Porsche 911 GT3 R has been equipped with SPACER seat shells, in which drivers Matt Campbell, Mathieu Jaminet and Felipe Nasr sit. After a seat test, the SPACERs are specially tailored to the driver and perfectly adapted to offer optimal comfort with the best possible grip and the greatest possible safety.
“The SPACER sets the standard in terms of seating technology in motorsport. For our involvement in IMSA, the shells are in the car from the very first test. The satisfaction of our drivers underscores the quality,” said Steve Bortolotti, Team Principal at Pfaff Motorsports, after the first few outings.
It quickly became apparent that a winning combination was born. Bortolotti’s team was extremely dominant in the past season. The Porsche duo of Mathieu Jaminet and Matt Campbell won five of the ten races during the season. After the opening victory at the legendary 24 Hours of Daytona, victories in Laguna Seca, Mosport, Lime Rock and at VIRginia International Raceway followed. In each of the ten races, the Pfaff Porsche achieved top 5 results, of which in eight of them they even ended up on the podium. The crew had already scored enough points at the start of the ten-hour race at Road Atlanta to crown this season full of highlights with the first championship title in the new GTD Pro class.
“We would like to congratulate our partners from Pfaff Motorsports on their well-deserved championship and are continuing to develop our SPACER in order to be able to celebrate many more victories with them,” said Sascha Taubert, congratulating the newly crowned champions.
